SIC (Standardized Industrial Classification) codes are 4-digit identifiers for industries. Under the "Tools" menu of the program, you can consult our SIC Code Lookup Tool, which will enable you to pinpoint the SIC codes you need for your industry searches. For example, the SIC Code for "pharmaceutical preparations" is 2834.

Let's assume that you have already found the SIC Code for your industry of interest using our SIC Code Lookup Tool. Here is how to perform a SIC Code search:

1. Change the Search Type to "SIC Code" -- or even better, to "Advanced Search"
2. The SIC Directory opens
3. Enter a keyword or a SIC code in the "Search categories" field, and hit ENTER on your keyboard
4. Double click on the search result you want. The companies will load in the grid, one page at a time

To narrow your search by ZIP Code:

• Close the SIC Directory and use search type "Advanced Search"

To narrow your search by Area Code:

• Close the SIC Directory and use search type "Advanced Search"
5. To copy these contacts to the Windows Clipboard, and then paste them into Excel (or any other program), do the following: (note that you can only copy one page at a time)
• Click on the "Data" menu, and select "Copy All"
