How to Perform a Basic Company Name Search
The simplest kind of search in 1Jump is by Company Name. Here's how to do it.
- Accept the default Search Type: "Company Name"
- Under Keywords, enter a company name. For this example, let's use "Microsoft"
Tips on searching by company name:
- Precision counts: Try different variations of a company name. ("Microsoft", "Microsoft Corp", "Microsoft Corporation" all yield different results).
- Spelling counts: Double-check your spelling if there are no results
- Don't use punctuation: Leave out periods, commas, and other punctuation from your search terms
- Don't enter "Inc.", "Corp.", or "Ltd": You'll get better results if you leave out these terms, and others like them
- Click ONCE on the "Jump" button
- Two things will now happen:
- The area labeled "Click for Content" will fill up with topics. Each topic is a type of information that 1Jump provides on this company.
- The company's main web site will open in the Web browser component of the program
- Clicking once on any topic in the "Click for Content" area brings up information on that topic.
For example, clicking once on "Peers" ...

... will generate a clickable, interactive list of companies in the same industry as Microsoft (in this case).
